Thyroid Awareness?

Who knew? I think this interview on the Better Health website has some good information about thyroid disease. We screen for thyroid disorders a lot in Rheumatology, since conditions like myositis, fibromyalgia, polymyalgia rheumatica and lupus have symptoms that can be shared by thyroid disorders.

    I would be very interested to hear your thoughts re: debate on TSH reference ranges.

    • I do not routinely prescribe or monitor thyroid medication, so I’m afraid I can’t speak with any significant expertise on TSH reference ranges. I suspect there are many differing opinions.
